How to Help
Bicycles change lives. You can help make it happen.
At the Bicycling Empowerment Network (BEN), we've seen what a single bicycle can do.
It turns a two-hour walk to school into a twenty-minute ride. It gets a job seeker to an interview across town. It allows a community health worker to reach twice as many patients in a day.
For more than 20 years, we've been putting bicycles into the hands of people who need them most, and the impact is profound.
Whether you're an individual, a business or an organisation, there is a meaningful way for you to be part of this story.
Make a Financial Donation
Every rand you give goes directly into changing lives. Your donation helps us refurbish and distribute bicycles to children, workers and job seekers; deliver safe cycling and mechanic training; and advocate for safer streets and better cycling infrastructure across South Africa. No contribution is too small, and everyone makes a difference.
Donations qualify for a Section 18A Certificate so you can claim against your tax if in South Africa.
Donate a Bicycle
That bike gathering dust in your garage could change someone's life. We give every donated bicycle a second life and a new loved home, where it becomes far more than a means of transport. It becomes a child's route to education, a job seeker's path to opportunity, or a health worker's link to the patients who depend on them.
We accept bicycles in good condition at our drop-off location in Cape Town. Not sure if yours qualifies? Get in touch — we'd love to hear from you.
Donate cycling kit
