Bike4All

A sturdy, easy-to-service utility bicycle, built for everyday use.

How it works

We develop and distribute Bike4All in joint venture with the Pedal Power Association. The programme is funded by the Western Cape Mobility Department through the Provincial Sustainable Transport Programme.

Each bicycle goes out with a helmet, a pump, tools, basic maintenance training and safe-cycling training. The rider leaves able to use the bicycle safely and keep it running.

Bike4All bicycles go to groups that need reliable transport, including:

  • schools

  • community centres

  • neighbourhood watch groups

  • youth organisations

Since 2017, BEN and the Pedal Power Association have put nearly 4,700 Bike4All bicycles on the road.
